Cowboy Culture returns to Fair Grounds for Woodchopper S.

Cowboy Culture, who got his first career stakes win in February at Fair Grounds, returns to the New Orleans track as he looks to close out 2017 on a high note in the $75,000 Woodchopper S. on Dec. 30.

The 3-year-old colt is part of a full field of 14 sophomores contesting the “about” one mile on the turf.

Since winning the Keith Gee Memorial in early February, Cowboy Culture has gone on to rack up wins in the $200,000 Centaur S. and the Arlington Classic (G3). He has five wins in eight lifetime starts and has earned $267,325 for Head of Plains Partners and Cheyenne Stables.

The son of leading sire Quality Road drew post 8 in the Woodchopper and will be ridden for the first time by Corey Lanerie, Churchill Downs’ top rider over the past decade. Cowboy Culture is trained by Brad Cox.

The Woodchopper is race 8 on Saturday, with a scheduled post time of 5:35 p.m. ET.
