Who We Are

Cheyenne Stables and Candy Meadows are both owned by Everett Dobson, who splits his time between Oklahoma and Kentucky.

Everett Dobson has owned and raced thoroughbreds since 1996, and has owned Candy Meadows Farm since 2006.

Dobson is a Trustee of the Keeneland Association. Dobson serves as Chairman of the American Graded Stakes committee.  He is a member of The Jockey Club and a member of The Breeders’ Cup Ltd. Recently elected to the board of trustees as vice chairman for the Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association. Dobson continues representing breeders and owner by being involved in the thoroughbred industry making paths for the future of the sport.

Matt Lyons joined Candy Meadows in January 2019 as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. He is currently on the board at The Secretariat Center, where their mission is to reschool off-track thoroughbred for a new career. He also served on the board of Consignors and Commercial Breeders Association (CBA). Recently joined the board of the Kentucky Thoroughbred Farm Managers’ Club.  Matt came from Woodford Thoroughbreds in Kentucky where he was Vice President and General Manager, managing the farm operations for 10 years.

Candy Meadows is currently home to about 30 mares.
