Cheyenne Stables and Candy Meadows are both owned by Everett Dobson, who splits his time between Oklahoma and Kentucky.
Everett Dobson has owned and raced thoroughbreds since 1996, and has owned Candy Meadows Farm since 2006.
Dobson is on the Board of Trustees for the Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association, serves on the Executive committee and is Chairman of the American Graded Stakes committee. He is a member of the Board of Stewards for The Jockey Club and a member of The Breeders’ Cup Ltd. Dobson is also a Trustee of the Keeneland Association.
Matt Lyons joined Candy Meadows in January 2019 as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. Matt came from Woodford Thoroughbreds in Kentucky where he was Vice President and General Manager, managing the farm operations for 10 years. He will use his experience in farm management, pedigree analysis and sales prep to grow and develop Candy Meadows.
Candy Meadows was founded in partnership with Jim Wells, a 35-year veteran horseman with a proven track record of raising stakes quality thoroughbreds. Jim continues to advise in breeding and sales.
Candy Meadows is currently home to about 30 mares.
Cheyenne Stables races primarily on the East Coast with a smaller number in the Midwest and West coasts.
