Cheyenne Stables LLC’s homebred Cooke Creek will make his next start in Friday’s $250,000 Pimlico Special (G3) at the historic Baltimore race track.
The 4-year-old has paired up career-best 95 Beyer Speed Figures in his most recent two races, including besting fellow Pimlico Special entrant Clapton by 6 ½-lengths in a March allowance race at Gulfstream Park.
As a 2-year-old, Cooke Creek won his debut and the Rocky Run S. at Delaware Park, then was a game second in the Nashua S. (G3) at Belmont Park. He won his 2022 debut in the Jerome S. and is 2-2-2 in 11 starts and has earned $144,460.
Cooke Creek, trained by Jeremiah O’Dwyer, drew post six of eight for Friday’s 1 3/16-mile race for 3-year-olds and upward. He will be ridden Joel Rosario.
Cooke Creek is the second foal to race out of Genre, who won the Molly Pitcher S. (G3) and Lady Jacqueline S.
The Pimilco Special is race 12 on Friday, with a scheduled post time of 5:10 p.m. EDT.
