Cheyenne Stable LLC’s homebred 2-year-old colt Apollo Ten will make his first added-money appearance in Sunday’s $150,000 Futurity S. (G3) at the Belmont at the Big A meet.
The dark bay son of Violence will try to duplicate his previous maiden win on Sept. 22, which came over the same turf course and six-furlong distance.
Apollo Ten certainly has the credentials to be a successful turf horse. His dam Stormy Regatta, who Cheyenne also campaigned, was a two-time stakes winner on the grass. Stormy Regatta is also the dam of the Candy Meadows-bred Bay Storm, who won over $1.3 million dollars and four stakes races, topped by the AGS Ladies Turf Sprint (G2).
Trained by Christophe Clement, Apollo Ten will be ridden by Joel Rosario for the first time. The dark bay drew post seven in the eight-horse field.
The Futurity is carded as Sunday’s fifth race, with a post time of 2:44 pm ET.
