Ozara (IRE) will make her third straight start in a stakes race on Saturday when the Cheyenne Stable LLC’s 2-year-old filly contests the $100,000 Wait A While S. on the turf at Gulfstream Park.
Ozara comes into Saturday’s race off a very good second in the Oct. 27 Chelsea Flower S. at Aqueduct. In her three lifetime starts, all on the grass, the daughter of Lope de Vega (IRE) is 1-1-0, along with a fourth-place finish in the Natalma S. (G1), and has earned $103,232.
Trained by Christophe Clement, Ozara will be ridden for the first time by Irad Ortiz, Jr. on Saturday. She drew post seven in the field of 10 going 7 ½-furlongs, which is a two-turn race at Gulfstream.
The Wait A While is named after the champion 3-year-old filly of 2006 who was a graded stakes winner on both turf and dirt at Gulfstream Park. Saturday’s race, the sixth on the card, has a scheduled post time of 2:34 pm ET.
