Cheyenne Stable LLC’s Ozara, who already has a pair of stakes wins at the meet, is the early favorite for Saturday’s $125,000 Sanibel Island S. at Gulfstream Park.
The 3-year-old filly, trained by Christophe Clement, took both the Wait A While S. and Ginger Brew S. earlier in the meet, and was most recently a close third in the Herecomesthebride S. (G3) over the same turf course.
Ozara drew post seven in the field of 10 fillies and is 8-5 on the morning line. The Sanibel Island is run a 7 ½-furlongs, the same distance as the Wait A While. As the most accomplished filly in the field, Ozara has won half of her six starts and earned $255,157.
Ozara will be ridden by the first time by Joel Rosario on Saturday. The Sanibel Island is race 8 on as part of the Florida Derby (G1) card, and has a post time of 2:56 pm ET.
