After finishing in the middle of a tight three-way photo in last month’s Intercontinental S. (G2), Cheyenne Stable LLC and John O’Meara’s Roses for Debra will face those two foes once again in Thursday’s $200,000 Caress S. (G3) at Saratoga.
Roses for Debra was just a head behind Future Is Now and a neck ahead of Kaufymaker in the Intercontinental, which will be run at the same 5 ½-furlongs on the turf.
Prior to that thrilling finish, Roses for Debra won Keeneland’s Giant’s Causeway S. (G3), her first start of 2024. Roses for Debra won the 2023 Caress, one of her four lifetime stakes wins, by 2 ½-lengths. Lifetime she has eight wins in 13 starts and has earned $619,868.
Irad Ortiz, Jr. will be aboard once again on Thursday, the seventh straight time he has ridden the 5-year-old daughter of Liam’s Map. The Christophe Clement trainee will break from the outside post in the field of 10.
The Caress, race 9 on the card, is schedule to run at 5:45 pm ET.
