Eakly will make his first start of the year Friday night at Remington Park when Cheyenne Stable LLC’s colorbearer goes postward in the $50,000 Red Earth S.

The homebred 4-year-old won the Oklahoma Turf Classic over this same grass course 11 months ago.

Eakly has been working regularly at Remington Park for his return, including turning in a bullet five-furlongs of 1:00 2/5 out of the gate in late August for trainer Donnie K Von Hemel.

A son of Cheyenne’s Breeders’ Cup winner Caleb’s Posse, Eakly drew post 1 in the field of eight that will go 7 ½-furlongs around two turns.
