Keeneland’s $300,000 Madison S. (G1) on Saturday drew a very well-matched field of nine fillies and mares seeks to move to the top of the 2017 distaff sprint division, including Cheyenne Stables’ two-time stakes winner Clothes Fall Off.
Though the seven-furlong Madison drew only one Grade 1 winner, nearly every horse in the field has either won or placed in a graded stakes. Paulassilverlining, who Clothes Fall Off defeated in the Correction S., and High Ridge Road, who narrowly defeated the Cheyenne runner in the Barbara Fritchie S. (G2), are both part of the excellent field.
Clothes Fall Off comes into the Madison following a sharp score in the March 18th Correction, her second straight win in the race at Aqueduct. The ultra-consistent 5-year-old daughter of Daaher has finished worse than second only four times in 15 lifetime starts and has banked $474,160.
Clothes Fall Off drew post two for trainer Kiaran McLaughlin and will be ridden for the first time by Julien Leparoux, who is always near the top of the Keeneland rider standings. Post time for the Madison, race 9, is 5:03 p.m. ET.
