Following her solid score in the Correction S. three weeks ago, Clothes Fall Off will face the toughest test of her career in Saturday’s $300,000 Madison S. (G1) at Keeneland.
The seven-furlong Madison always draws a solid field, but maybe never one better than the 2016 running. Among the 13 older fillies and mares are 2015 Breeders’ Cup Distaff (G1) winner Stopchargingmaria, 2015 Breeders’ Cup Filly and Mare Sprint (G1) winner Wavell Avenue, 2015 La Brea S. (G1) winner Birdatthewire, and 2016 Barbara Fritchie S. (G2) winner Dancing House. Clothes Fall Off was a game second in the Barbara Fritchie.
With speed horses to both her inside and out, Clothes Fall Off should find a nice stalking position as she breaks from post 8 under Corey Lanerie, who will be aboard the 4-year-old for the first time.
Clothes fall Off will be looking to add to her excellent record that stands at 4-6-0 in 11 starts, with $365,160 in earnings for Cheyenne Stables and their partners Southern Equine Stable and Hat Creek Racing.
The Madison is race 9 on Saturday’s Blue Grass S. card and has a scheduled post time of 5:20 p.m. ET.
