Gary Barber, Cheyenne Stable LLC and Wachtel Stable’s Rhetorical will face one of the best turf fields assembled thus far in 2026 in Saturday’s $750,000 Fourstardave S. (G1) at Saratoga.

The field of seven includes Grade 1 winners Classic Q, Deterministic, and Zulu Kingdom, as well as multiple graded stakes winner Lagynos, and Mi Bago, who dead-heated for victory with Zulu Kingdom in last month’s Kelso S. (G3), also at Saratoga.

Rhetorical brings impressive credentials himself into Saturday’s one-mile race. Winner of the Turf Mile (G1) last autumn at Keeneland and the Turf Classic (G1) on Derby Day this year at Churchill Downs, the dark bay boasts a record of 2-0-1 in four starts at a mile on the turf, as well as being 3-0-1 in five starts over the Saratoga lawn.

Trained by Will Walden, Rhetorical will be ridden by Irad Ortiz, Jr., who has been aboard for all but one of the 5-year-old’s 10 lifetime starts.

The Fourstardave, one of four graded stakes on Saturday’s card, is race 10 with a scheduled post time of 5:14 pm ET.
