Cheyenne Stables LLC’s veteran sprinter Eakly won a very tight three-horse photo in the $250,000 Great West Turf Sprint S. Sept. 27 at Remington Park to earn his fourth career stakes win [VIDEO].

The 6-year-son of Caleb’s Posse won the Cliff Berry Turf Sprint H. just 16 days prior to Sunday’s five-furlong dash. Jackman’s Ride, winner of this race last year, set a torrid pace of :21.28 and :43.68, with Eakly poised in third before rallying in the upper stretch. He put his head in front with a furlong to run, then dug in determinedly to best Runnin’ Rocket by a neck, with the pacesetter another neck back in third.

A two-time winner of the OKC Turf Classic H., Eakly is 8-10-5 in 29 starts and has earned $629,819. He is trained by Donnie K. Von Hemel.

Eakly was bred by Candy Meadows and hails from the same family as five-time stakes winner Lotta Lovin.
