Cheyenne Stables and Candy Meadows are both owned by Everett Dobson, who splits his time between Oklahoma and Kentucky. He has owned and raced thoroughbreds since 1996 and has owned Candy Meadows Farm since 2006. Dobson is a Trustee of the Keeneland Association and was recently re-elected to the Board of Trustees as Vice Chairman for the Thoroughbred Owners and Breeders Association. He is also the incoming chair of The Jockey Club and a member of The Breeders’ Cup Limited. Through these engagements, among others, Dobson continues representing breeders and owners by being involved in the thoroughbred industry and making paths for the future of the sport.
Matt Lyons joined Candy Meadows in January 2019 as Senior Vice President and Chief Operating Officer. He is currently the Vice President of the board of directors at The Secretariat Center, where the mission is to prepare off-track thoroughbreds for new careers. He also served on the board of Consignors and Commercial Breeders Association (CBA). He recently joined the board of the Kentucky Thoroughbred Farm Managers’ Club. Matt previously worked for, and helped found, Woodford Thoroughbreds with the Sykes family in Kentucky, where he served as Vice President and General Manager, for ten years.
Candy Meadows is currently home to about thirty mares.
