Cheyenne Stables and partners’ Clothes Fall Off will try to give her owners an early Valentine’s Day present on Saturday when she faces a field of six other fillies and mares in the $300,000 Barbara Fritchie H. (G2) at Laurel Park.
The seven-furlong Fritchie has long been a staple of the winter Laurel meet, often pitting the best sprinting distaffers against each other. Saturday’s race is no exception, with the likes of Grade 1 winner Princess Violet, last year’s Fritchie winner Lady Sebilia and the multiple stakes winner Hot City Girl as part of the field.
An ultra-consistent 4-year-old filly who has finished first or second in eight of her nine career starts,Clothes Fall Off is coming into the Fritchie in peak form. In her last start, at Aqueduct Jan. 14. the daughter of Daaher ran 5 ½ furlongs in a track record 1:02.89 while winning an allowance race by 1 ½ lengths.
Laurel-based Jevian Toledo has the mount aboard Clothes Fall Off, who drew post two for Saturday’s eighth race, which goes off at approximately 3:45 p.m. ET.
