Cheyenne Stable LLC’s Style Points will move back into graded stakes company on Oct. 12 for her start in the $200,000 Sands Point S. (G2) at Belmont at the Big A.
The 3-year-old filly comes into the 1 1/8-mile turf race off a sharp score in the $250,000 Virginia Oaks on Sept. 7 over the Colonial Downs turf, winning by 2 ½-lengths with a very impressive closing kick.
That was the first stakes victory for the daughter of Oscar Performance-Mystical Star, who had placed in both the Florida Oaks (G3) and Sweetest Chant (G3) earlier this year.
Trained by Christophe Clemente, Style Points will be ridden Saturday by Joel Rosario, whose lone prior mount on the filly was an allowance win in the spring at Keeneland.
Style Points drew post 6 in the field of nine. Post time for the Sands Point, race 5, is 2:13 pm ET.
