Well-travelled Hoosier Philly will make her next start on Independence Day in the $100,000 Iowa Distaff at Prairie Meadows, the 11th different track she has raced over in her career.
The 5-year-old, bred by Candy Meadows LLC, drew the inside post in the field of five fillies and mares set to travel 1 1/16-miles.
A daughter of six-time champion sire Into Mischief, Hoosier Philly will also be wearing blinkers for the first time in 10 starts dating back to March of 2024, and will also be ridden in the first timer of her career by Francisco Arrieta.
After achieving millionaire status with her runner-up finish in the $200,000 Dig A Diamond S. at Oaklawn in late April, Hoosier Philly is looking for her first stakes win since December, when she took the Joseph Broussard S. at Fair Grounds.
Hoosier Philly’s lifetime record for trainer Tom Amoss and owner Gold Standard Racing Stable LLC are 6-2-2 in 20 starts, with earnings of $1,014,965.
The Iowa Distaff is race five on Friday’s card, with a post time of 6:44 pm CT.
