Cheyenne Stables’ Taralena will make her 2018 debut in Saturday’s $200,000 La Prevoyante H. (G3) at Gulfstream Park. The 1 1/2-mile contest on the turf also marks the initial graded stakes start for the 5-year-old daughter of Arch.
In 11 lifetime starts, Taralena has never contested a race shorter than 1 1/16-miles, compiling a record of 2-4-2. She is twice stakes-placed, in the Dueling Grounds Oaks and Memories of Silver S., both at age three.
Taralena drew post six in the field of seven and will be ridden by Joel Rosario for the sixth time in her career. She’s coming off a solid effort in the Via Borghese over the same surface on Dec. 30, when she was beaten just three lengths and earned a lifetime best Beyer Speed Figure of 88.
The La Prevoyante is race 3 on Saturday, with a scheduled post time of 12:30 p.m. ET.
