Mo Diddley draws outside post for Iroquois S. (G3)

Gary Barber and Cheyenne Stables’ 2-year-old colt Mo Diddley will break from the outside in the field of 10 juveniles in the $150,000 Iroquois S. (G3) Sept. 16 at Churchill Downs.

Mo Diddley was a maiden winner in his debut at Churchill Downs on May 18 despite a very bad break and wide trip. Shipped to New York for the Saratoga Special (G2), the son of Uncle Mo got caught in an early speed duel and held strong until mid-stretch before tiring from his early efforts.

The 1 1/16-mile Iroquois will be Mo Diddley’s first start around two turns, and he’ll be ridden for the first time by Corey Lanerie, Churchill’s leading rider on many occasions.

The Iroquois is race 10 with a post time of 5:20 p.m. ET.
