Cheyenne Stable LLC’s Ozara, winner of the Dec. 9 Wait A While S., will try to make it two black type wins in a row over the Gulfstream Park turf course in Saturday’s Ginger Brew S.
The newly-turned 3-year-old had a very solid 2023 campaign that included a pair of wins, a second in the Chelsey Flower S. at Aqueduct, and a trouble fourth in the Natalma S. (G1) at Woodbine.
Ozara drew post four in the field of 12 fillies who will be going one mile in Saturday’s race. Trained by Christophe Clemente, Ozara will be ridden by Tyler Gaffalione, who was aboard for her debut maiden win in August at Saratoga.
Ozara is a daughter of Cercle d’Or, who is a half-sister to the brilliant Golden Horn. The 2015 European Horse of the Year won more than $6.5 million in his career that included victories in the Epsom Derby (G1), Irish Champion S. (G1) and the Arc de Triomphe (G1).
The Ginger Brew is the ninth race on Saturday’s card, with a scheduled post time of 4:06 ET.
