Cheyenne Stable LLC’s Princess Proud, who has won her last two starts, will face stakes competition for the first time in her career July 10 at Ellis Park in the $200,000 Audubon Oaks.
The Audubon Oaks, at seven furlongs, will be the first race beyond six panels for Princess Proud.
In her most recent two starts, Princess Proud won in front-running style. On July 5 at Ellis, the bay filly was very sharp, winning an allowance race by a widening 3 ¼-lengths.
Sunday’s race drew a very competitive field with several stakes winners, topped by Vodka With a Twist, who was second in last year’s Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Fillies (G1).
Princess Proud, by champion sire Into Mischief, was bred by Candy Meadows LLC and is out of the Candy Ride (ARG) mare Ulele. Ulele has a Flightline colt by her side and is reported in foal to Justify.
Princess Proud, trained by Bill Mott, drew post six and will be ridden by Jamie Torres. Post time for Sunday’s 10th race is 5:12 pm ET.
