Roses for Debra was installed as the early favorite for the $150,000 Smart N Fancy S. Friday at Saratoga, a race she won last year at the historic New York track.
Owned by John O’Meara and Cheyenne Stable LLC, Roses for Debra’s most recent start came in the June 7th Intercontinental S. (G2) at Saratoga, a race she lost by just a head to Future Is Now, who is also in Friday’s 5 ½-furlong turf sprint.
The Smart N Fancy drew a field of eight fillies and mares, including the main track only entrant Everyoneloveslinda. Roses for Debra has an excellent record of two wins and a second over the Saratoga turf. She also won the Caress S. (G3) in 2023.
Trained by Christophe Clement, Roses for Debra will be ridden by Irad Ortiz, Jr., who has been aboard the 5-year-old for her last six starts, including three wins.
Roses for Debra is in post 4 in Friday’s fifth race, which has a post time of 2:46 pm ET.
