Cheyenne Stables LLC’s Style Points, who was a very close second in last month’s Sweetest Chant S. (G3) at Gulfstream Park, will try to get her first stakes win in the $200,000 Florida Oaks (G3) on March 9 at Tampa Bay Downs.
The homebred 3-year-old filly drew post 7 in the full field of 12 that will navigate the 1 1/16-miles on the turf course.
In the Sweetest Chant, Style Points turned in a very gallant effort only to be caught in deep stretch by the more experienced Life’s an Audible, who isn’t in the Oaks field. However, Style Points will face the likes of Dynamic Pricing (IRE), who was third in the Sweetest Chant, graded stakes winner Witwatersrand, stakes winner Austere, and the Grade 2-placed Pharoah’s Wine.
Style Points is by the brilliant turf runner and top young sire Oscar Performance and is out of Cheyenne’s New York S. (G2) winner Mystical Star.
In Saturday’s race, the tenth on the card at 4:45 p.m. ET, Style Points will be ridden for the first time by Javier Castellano.
