Style Points draws outside post for rescheduled Christiana S.

Cheyenne Stable LLC’s homebred filly Style Points will seek to earn her first stakes victory in Monday’s $150,000 Christiana S. at Delaware Park.

The nine-furlong turf race was originally scheduled for Saturday, July 6, but the card was postponed until Monday to excessive temperatures in the mid-Atlantic area.

Style Points, who has made all five of her starts to date on the turf, placed second in both the Sweetest Chant S. (G3) at Gulfstream Park and the Florida Oaks (G3) at Tampa Bay Downs over the winter. Monday’s race will mark her first start since a Keeneland allowance win on April 25.

Style Points, a daughter of superlative turf star Oscar Performance, is out of Mystical Star, winner of the Grade 2 New York S. and Kentucky Downs Ladies Turf Marathon S.

The 3-year-old filly drew the outside post in the field of 10 and will be ridden for the first time by Jose Ortiz, Jr.  Post time for Monday’s sixth race is 3:10 ET.
